Rt. Rev. Edward Ralph Johnson

Bishop Johnson School was established in 1977 under the founder headship of the Australian Missionary. Ms. S. Buss. The College was named after The Rt. Rev. Edward Ralph Johnson, famous educationalist and an Anglican Priest during the second half of the 19th century. He was elevated to the episcopate as Bishop of Calcutta in 1876 and served as the same till his retirement in 1898. The School has started with two wings, one wing with a few mentally retarded students and the other with a few sound minded students. The School gradually grew upto a premium Institution of Allahabad city in a very short span of time, and the School got affiliated to the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi. The first batch of ICSE Board students appeared in the year 1987. The strength of the School rapidly increased to an adequate number due to the conscious and conscientious mental processing and divergent and convergent thinking of the pioneers. The major state-of-the-art ‘Intermediate Section’ came up in the year 1994. At the nucleus of the success stories of BJC are its strong academic objectives, vision, mission and motto. Not only the qualified faculty emphasizes on the quest of all round excellence of the students but also motivates every child to be a creative child.
